About the Illustrator: Mary Atwood is a Seattle-based illustrator and designer of Taiwanese-American heritage. She studied advertising at the University of Texas at Austin before pursuing her creative dreams in Seattle. With over a decade of experience, she creates artwork inspired by folklore, nature, travel memories, and fairy tales, working with gouache, watercolor, and digital mediums. Her detailed, whimsical style has appeared on books, textiles, home décor, and products worldwide.
