About the Author: Anne Ameri-Siemens is an award-winning writer and former Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung journalist. Her 2007 book became a Spiegel Bestseller and won the Corine International Book Prize. This is her fourth collaboration with Little Gestalten, following Who Invented This?, Explore the Rainforest, and Explore the Ocean.

About the Illustrator: Anton Hallmann studied illustration at Hamburg University of Applied Science and now lives in Stockholm. His editorial work appears in Die Zeit, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and FAZ, with clients including Google, Lufthansa, and Deutsche Bahn. His digital collage style draws inspiration from early 20th-century illustrators Vladimir Lebedev and El Lissitzky. He also runs the podcast "Pictori" on illustration history.
