About the Imperial Hotel: Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1923, the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo was a groundbreaking fusion of Eastern and Western architectural traditions. Built from Oya stone and concrete, it famously survived the devastating Great Kantō earthquake on its opening day. Though demolished in 1968, portions of the lobby were preserved and reconstructed at the Meiji-mura Museum in Japan.

About Frank Lloyd Wright: One of America's most celebrated architects (1867-1959), Wright designed over 1,000 structures during his career. His organic architecture philosophy emphasised harmony between humanity and environment, and his innovative designs continue to influence architects worldwide.
