About the Architect: Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) was one of America's most influential architects, renowned for his organic architecture philosophy that sought harmony between humanity and the environment. His deep appreciation for Japanese art and culture, which began with his first visit to Japan in 1905, profoundly influenced his design aesthetic. The Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, completed in 1923, represented the culmination of this cross-cultural exchange and survived the Great Kantō earthquake that same year, cementing Wright's reputation as a visionary architect.
